Outside of work

Creative Projects

Drawing, painting, sculpture, and an ongoing woodcraft project — a running record of things made by hand since I was six.

Age 6–10

First boats

Crayon ships, small wooden hulls, and a painting proud enough to show the class — the earliest things I remember making.

Where the boat started

The very first version of an ongoing woodcraft project — a plain hull with a simple cabin, long before rigging, sails, or paint.

House & mountains

A perspective drawing of a house, and one of my first serious paintings — a mountain landscape made as a birthday gift for my dad.

Planes, wolves, and a spiral stair

First-year high school artwork — a house interior drawn from imagination, two WWII aircraft paintings, and a wolf in ink wash.

A mural in Innsbruck

Living in Austria with a view of the mountains, I painted that view onto my bedroom wall — mountains, sunrise, and a bit of home.

A full-size WALL·E build, my first attempt at sculpting a realistic head, and a pair of parallettes built from scratch for training.

A speculative future city: organic buildings, elevator cabins moving through glass pipes, and space for nature to stay part of urban life.

On the impact of social media

A painting about how social media promises connection but often leaves us more anxious, lonely, and distracted — myself included.

Paper dress

A project on honouring nature using only paper. The base layer takes its texture from reptile skin; hundreds of crepe-paper flowers make up the outer layer.

A supersonic helmet

"For Protection and/or Perfection" — a concept army helmet with built-in binoculars, infrared, and hearing protection, built up from cardboard and paper mâché to a finished camouflage shell.

Digital drawing

Moving onto an iPad — an elephant calf, a black panther, a climber mid-competition, and a portrait of my mother hiking.

Still working on the same boat, years later — full rigging, sails, and detail added slowly over time.
