I draw, paint and build things by hand.The longest project was a fully rigged wooden ship model built over nine years. Alongside it, I continue to paint, draw and work in wood.

A pair of parallettes I designed and built from birch plywood and beech — from raw material to finished equipment I still use.

Making a Helmet

High school · 2020

Built up in paper and card over a shaped form, then sealed and painted.

A head-shaped base, wrapped and taped, to build the shell over.

Papier-mâché built over the form, then painted and cut into the basic helmet shell.

Cardboard armour panels added to build out the faceted shape, then covered with a layer of newspaper.

Made in high school, this painting explores attention, comparison and the pull of life through a screen. I brought those ideas together in a single interior, using the figures and surroundings to contrast appearance with lived experience.
